Overview

Crane hire across Teesside

We provide crane hire and contract lifting across Teesside, for loads from 20kg to 1,000 tonnes.

Our Darlington yard sits at the western end of the A66, so the whole Tees valley is a short run. Much of the work here is on live process plant, with permits and fixed shutdown windows.

Which areas?

Every TS postcode, the rest of the North East, and the rest of the UK.

Which cranes?

All-terrain mobile cranes for vessels and heavy plant, city cranes and light truck cranes for confined process areas, and our electric pick and carry cranes indoors.

No appointed person?

Book a contract lift. We survey, plan and supervise it, fully insured.

Only need a cost?

Send photos, the weight and the reach and a desktop quote generally follows the same day.

    How it works

How a Teesside lift is booked

    01

    The details

Load weight and size, the site address, where it lands and photos of the access, with the site’s permit rules if you have them.

    02

    The quote

We quote from what you send, and visit first where the ground or the plant layout needs a look.

    03

    The plan

On a contract lift our appointed person writes the lift plan and RAMS around the permit and the shutdown, and sends them before the day.

    04

    The lift

The crane arrives in its window, sets up where planned and lifts to BS 7121, with equipment examined under LOLER.

    Teesside

    Lifting in and around Teesside

We cover both banks of the Tees, from Stockton and Middlesbrough down to the coast at Redcar and Hartlepool, and inland to Yarm and Guisborough.

    Stockton and Thornaby

Stockton-on-Tees, Thornaby, Billingham, Yarm and Eaglescliffe

    Hartlepool

    What we plan for

    Getting there

Cranes reach Teesside on the A66 and A19, with the A174 to Redcar and the coast. Low bridges and weight limits are planned before we quote.

    Permit-controlled plant

On process sites we work to inductions, permits and exclusion zones, and fit lifts into shutdown and maintenance windows.

    Reclaimed ground

Much of the land along the Tees is reclaimed or former works ground with patchy records. The bearing is checked and mats go down where needed.

    Wind off the estuary

Lifts by the river and the coast carry wind limits, so the programme keeps a fallback day.

    Questions

    Common questions

Yes. We follow the site’s inductions and permits and plan the lift into the shutdown window.

Yes. The lift is planned round vessel movements, the ground bearing and the wind off the North Sea.

Our Darlington yard is about 15 miles along the A66, so a Teesside site is a short run for the crane and the team.

Yes. Synergy Lifting moves machinery as well, so the skates, jacks and crane are planned together.

    Why book with us

    What every Teesside booking includes

    Appointed persons on the team

Our appointed persons write every contract lift plan and visit first when the site needs a look.

    Prices the same day

Desktop quotes are back with you on the day we get the details in most cases.

    Shutdown work

Vessel, pump and tank changes are planned to the hour of the shutdown.

    Road closures

Where the crane needs part of a road or pavement, we apply to the borough council for the area and bring the traffic management.

    Accredited

Certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, SSIP approved, a Constructionline Gold Member and in the CPA. Our operators carry CPCS or NPORS cards.

    More on one order

Transport, riggers, labour and machine movers can be booked alongside the crane.
